Paying it Forward: PLOW Winners

Students and chapters participate in the Passing Literacy OnWard program throughout the school year and are recognized for their individual and chapter achievements in improving reading skills and literacy. Ranging from chapter book drives to constructing a chapter library, or traveling to schools to read to students, FFA members across the state make a difference by bringing knowledge outside the classroom and into the community.  The AgriCenter International and Tennessee Foundation for Ag in the Classroom sponsor this award. Rising to the Challenge

FFA Chapters acros the state have once again proven that the Tennessee FFA Association is one of the best in the nation. Tennessee was one of only a dozen states selected to pilot the 2012 FFA Chapter Challenge. Chapter members set out with the goal of making significant connections with local producers in their area. Area farmers and ranchers were able to go online and vote for their favorite chapters and have the chance to share their agricultural story with FFA members across the nation. Twenty chapters from Tennessee earned enough connections to be recognized as the 2012 Chapter Challenge Winners and receive and FFA credit prize sponsored by Monsanto.  Continue reading
